Maverick 350 engine 24 ft..good choice?

anyone have experience with this? I have a chance to buy one in my price range but I would be trading space for fuel economy. I read the last post and I'm sorry people are tired of asking this ?. But for some of us, we CAN'T travel at all unless we get better fuel economy. I read some good things about the chevy 350 and bad about the 360...what is your experience with the Chevy 350? thank you ps. it is the 350 overdrive 1996

Buying Long or Short to save gas

Hi, new to this forum. Have always wanted an RV but am perplexed by the gas situation. I may be able to get a great deal on a used RV now, but will there be much difference in gas prices? I have looked at 24 footers which are really too small for me and my dogs, but if they save enough gas to allow me to travel, I am thinking that is the best way. In your experience, does driving a 24 footer use less gas than a 29footer etc? If the difference is minimal, it may be worth it to get the biggest one I can afford class A or C. Help?????? Thanks Living in Fla, one reason I want an RV is to spend some weekends at the beach which is about 100 miles in either direction for me(I live in the middle), but then I love the west coast and Canada is something I would like to explore. When you look at 3000 miles just to get there, that's some significant change at 6-8 miles a gallon. If I could get 10-12, I'd be much happier. I have seen the Toyota product which ended for some reason in 1993 and the one I am looking at right now is a Ga Boy 24ft with the bunk overhead only. People make claims that toys get 14-17 mpg and the dealer claims the GA Boy will get 10-14. I'm not a rich Rv'er, I'm looking in the less than 15 grand range, so that's where I am and thanks for any info you have posted here. If I buy small, I might not like it as much but I could still go on the trip. If I buy large, I might only be able to go to the beach with it. I've been home for years with my dogs, with no one to take care of them. I want to hit the open road with them so that I can take a month off!!!!! thanks
